We have some pretty outstanding missionaries that are leaving this month from the Oakton Stake!
We had a fun farewell party for Elders Bowen & James on Sunday, July 23rd. A lot of friends from the Vienna ward, along with some high school friends, came to say goodbye to these great missionaries.
The Vienna ward has some outstanding youth, and a lot of them are moving on to college or missions this year. They will really be missed!
Hanging out with Aedan one last time before he's set apart as a missionary.
Everyone at the party wrote a note to the missionaries. I thought this one from Andrew Rushforth was so cute!
On Sunday, July 30th, Elder James was set apart by President Wheatley, the Stake President of the Oakton Stake. He spent a lot of time visiting with our family and giving some great advice to Elder James. After he was set apart, Elder James put the pin in the stake missionary map.
Monday, July 31st - Saying goodbye to his big brother before he left to work.
Saying our last goodbyes to the house and family on Monday morning.
This was taken right after Elder James punched his little brother in the gut. I guess missionaries are not perfect.
Elder James' cousin Alyssa was able to spend the last 4 weeks with our family, and they loved reconnecting and had a blast together.
And they are off to Utah.
